We are building our infrastructure and as we grow our resources, we will be providing more data and statistics pertinent to homeless youth in South Los Angeles.
Current Homless Data and Information
The unmet need in South Los Angeles is dire. According to the 2013 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count, South Los Angeles has the highest concentration of foster care youth with a majority returning to impoverished communities and experiencing long periods of extreme poverty.
The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) reports that there has been an increase in homelessness across all age groups in South Los Angeles (SPA 6), except for children under 18 years of age since 2011.
Attached is LAHSA’s most recent 2013 summary.
