Children Now has launched Coveredtil26, a statewide outreach campaign to ensure all former foster youth living in California know they are eligible for free Medi-Cal coverage until age 26. Previously, former foster youth in CA lost their Medi-Cal coverage when they turned 21. Now, as a result of the Affordable Care Act, young adults who were in foster care at age 18 or older are eligible for Medi-Cal until age 26. We’d greatly appreciate any help in getting out the word to youth about this new coverage benefit. Below and attached are a few resources for South LA TAY collaborative members.
Webinar: Join them for a free webinar on Thurs, Feb. 27th from 11am-12pm to learn more about the extension of Medi-Cal coverage for former foster youth up to age 26. The webinar will provide an overview of California law, information on how youth can enroll, and tips on how to overcome enrollment barriers to ensure youth get the health care they need and are entitled to.
